Based on some the ideas I've heard, there will be much silliness in BOTH Faizeh's Choice categories.
But it doesn't have to be a comedy routine! It just has to match the theme. :)
I wish I could enter.

Re: Much silliness
Fri, August 3, 2007 - 4:49 PMFirst I'll tell ya what I would have done the last two years.
Kung Fu: I would have danced to "Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting" ....I thought FOR SURE somebody would, and nobody did, though I loved Khalida's tribute to anime.
Sci-Fi: I would have danced as an Orion Slave Girl (the green belly dancer from Star Trek the Original Series). I thought FOR SURE somebody would have, but nodody did. But we did have a Twi-lek!! (And lots of other rad stuff)
This year...let's see.
The music from Mission Impossible just SCREAMS isolations to me.
I can't think of her name...but the woman from The Avengers...talk about hot outfits to inspire you!
You have the very best idea for your troupe in your tribe.
Nothing like dancing to "Nobody Does it Better" from the Spy Who Loved me to use some subliminal effects... :)
Oh oh! A Solitare- themed act...you know, Queen of Hearts stuff and all...dancing to the theme from Live and Let Die. That would ROCK. (If that doesn't make sense, go watch the movie on Netflix)
I wonder if you could incorporate some kind of car chase to emulate the Bourne Identity.
But me? I'd probably end up dancing to the theme from Get Smart. ;)

Re: Much silliness
Fri, August 3, 2007 - 6:59 PMOh YEAH...The Avengers' Emma Peel had the coolest clothes.
Personally, I like XXX (and I'm talking about the Vin Diesel movie, not porn in this case) better than Bond. Drowning Pool's "Bodies" & Rammstein's "Feuer Frei" rock, Joi's "Lick" is very slow and snakey.
Austin Powers could be fun, too. Maybe for a troupe...dressed as a Fembots! -

Re: Much silliness
Sun, August 5, 2007 - 10:39 PMI second that! Trish should enter!! Trish, you're so creative and It would be fun. But Faizeh, you ought to dance too... I agree with Richard; dance without entering. No use letting all those good ideas go to waste! Share the vision. -

Re: Much silliness
Sat, August 4, 2007 - 2:00 PMSounds like you watched Jacqueline and Charise at Cairo Carnivale this year. They did a Bond inspired routine that I hear was fantastic, used Live and Let Die, the original Bond theme and one other, I think. I couldn't get there on Saturday and now they're hiding the tape! Drat and tarnation! -

Re: Much silliness
Sat, August 4, 2007 - 4:21 PMOh did they? I wasn't there on Saturday, though I was supposed to be there to dance with Alamkara. :( (I hate when I hurt my back and can't even walk!)
You should encourage them to sign up for HoF!! :)

Re: Much silliness
Thu, August 9, 2007 - 2:24 PMI came soooo close to entering this one, too, but I'm trying not to overextend myself. But, I've been listening to my collection with an ear for spy tunes, and I really want someone to dance to Firewater's cover of "Storm Warning," which has this great horn section that would be totally at home in a James Bond theme, AND the occasional bullet ricochet.

Has anyone else always wanted a bullet for a navel jewel? If I just knew where I'd put the one I shot my mother's front window out with years ago...
